| For old time's sake: So I did pass my exam, yay...I have begun studying for exam 4, started a few weeks ago. Cubs are kicking major ass, and are in a first place tie right now, playing significantly better baseball than the Brewers. Hopefully in 2-3 weeks the Wild Card is a Worst Case contigency plan and they are well on their way to winning the division. Mount's wedding is Saturday, Go Mount!!! Man, I still gotta work on that gift giving scenario. Batman Begins is a good movie. It is just ending on one of the many HBO channels my mom has. I have read 5-6 baseball books dealing with the statistics and economics of baseball in the last couple months. Now I am working on "The Thinking Fan's Guide to Baseball" by Leonard Koppett...these books have been around for a long time now, but I figured I would give it a shot. It is less numbers based than the rest of the books and deal more with observations. I really need to find a good book that describes the rules and regulations of the game as far as free agencies, the draft, and the MLBPA and other such things that would probably take a law degree to fully understand. Football preseason is starting up, GO COLTS!!! and Go Bears, as well. As much as I am a Colts fan first, if it comes down to a Colts/Bears Superbowl AGAIN, I might actually want the Bears to win. I mean, I haven't been a football fan all that long, and I think my marginal happiness of a second consecutive Colts win would be trumped by the first Bears superbowl victory in my memorable lifetime. However, I doubt it will come down to that. I will be surprised if they can both make it again...One beautiful thing about the major sports finals these days is that there arent really any teams winning it all every year (other than maybe the Spurs). I must admit, I am a fan of the NO-DYNASTY era. In summation...Screw the Yankees and Screw the Patriots!!!!!!!! Better get to sleep to ensure I wake up in time to see Carlos Zambrano take on the First Place New York Mets. As of right now, all six scheduled starters for this weekend series of first place teams have an above .500 record. You would expect low scoring pitching duels, but we shall see. Cubs = first place team IN AUGUST...GOTTA LOVE IT!!! | | |
| The Billy Joel Concert in St Paul was pretty amazing. It was the last stop on his tour, and it was his 58th birthday. So before the show, his friend came on the stage to tell us to sing Happy Birthday to him. And we did.
Here is the playlist for the Concert:
1) Prelude/Angry Young Man 2) My Life 3) Everybody Loves You Now 4) The Entertainer 5) Ballad of Billy the Kid 6) Allentown 7) Zanzibar 8) New York State of Mind 9) (Some Instrumental Piece from the album "Fantasies and Delusions") 10) Movin Out 11) Stand by Me (not a Billy Joel Original) 12) Innocent Man 13) Don't Ask Me Why 14) She's Always a Woman to Me 15) Keeping the Faith 16) River of Dreams 17) Highway to Hell (Sung by some guy named "Chainsaw"; and yes, the ACDC song) 18) We didn't start the Fire 19) Big Shot 20) It's Still Rock and Roll to Me 21) You May be Right ENCORE 22) Scenes from an Italian Restaurant 23) Only the Good Die Young 24) Like a Rolling Stone (a Bob Dylan Song) 25) Piano Man

| Exam = over. I think I put myself in a good position to pass. Gotta wait and find out. I am more confident this time than last time though, and last time i barely failed.
I am in Hobart until Monday, May 7th, then I will be back in Minnesota to see Billy Joel on May 9th, after that I am not sure where I will be.
Cubs and Bulls each won today. That is good news, especially for the Bulls who are 3-0 on the Heat in the first round of the playoffs. GO BULLS!!!

| Hah! I remember this thing, this "Xanga"...
First round of March Madness made me happy. The next round made me sad. GO BUTLER!!! Purdue gave Florida a heck of a challenge, all I could realistically ask for I guess.
Work is still moving along. Throughout January and February I was non stop busy, with quarterly reserving and a ton of adhoc jobs. Now I am definitely less busy, but I don't expect that to last long, plus the exam is coming up, which I will mention in one of the following paragraphs.
I think I am going on a short business trip to San Antonio, Texas, the first few days of May. But its already approaching April, and I haven't heard much about it. We shall see. If I do go, it would be cool if I got Spurs playoff tickets. I will have to check the Playoff Schedule in a month or so. Spurs regular season tickets sell out so fast, I doubt I could get any, but it is worth checking out.
I am still studying for this actuary exam. I don't know how I can possibly fail it again. All the new stuff is easy, and all the old stuff I know better now, and I barely failed last time. But, who knows? I will probably get into a car accident or something on the way to the exam. I am trying not to worry about it too much. I have put myself in a good position to pass both last sitting, and this sitting. So, if I don't pass it on the third try, then it is just not meant to be, and I will move on. It's not like I had my heart set on the actuarial sciences since I was a wee lad in Indiana.
More important than my career...BASEBALL SEASON is just around the corner...TWO MORE WEEKS!!!! The Cubs made some moves last year and are one of the favorites to win the NL pennant!!!
American Idol is good this season. I hope Sanjaya goes bye bye soon. It should come down to Lakisha and Melinda, but due to them sharing similar demographics, we will have to see.
Hmmm, what else is going on in the life of Dave Young...
Only 80 days or so until I drive down to Indiana to watch Jessie graduate and then take her back up to Minnesota, provided all goes as planned. At that point it will only be one year until the wedding. She is coming up her for her spring break, I think. That is in less that two weeks.
Ok, back to the books. DY out!

| Remember when the Colts won the Superbowl? That was fun. Rex Grossman and Steve Bartman should walk down Michigan Avenue together, and see who gets killed first. | | |
